Recently, SERVPRO of Van Nuys South got a new member to our fleet. Our Production Manager, Joey is the proud owner. It aids him in maneuvering from job to job helping our technicians. She is yet to be named, so if you see Joey out and about, feel free to give him your suggestions!

SERVPRO of Van Nuys South was called out to this flooded commercial building in Pacoima, CA. When we arrived there were 6 units affected, this was a CAT 3 Loss, which means there was black, contaminated water.

Losing a home is one of the hardest things to deal with. It is a deeply traumatic event that we take very seriously. The quicker we can get in and remove the affected materials, the quicker the demolition and rebuilding process can start. 

Immediately following the Woosley Fire, we were called to make a home livable. This home was incredibly close to the fire line, and had a substantial amount soot on the property. 

Following the Woosley Fire, we had to utilize our ozone machines, following the smoke cleanup. After drying the area fully and removing any organic matter, set the unit as a high as possible. Ozone is heavier than air and will fall. Set up an air mover to help circulate the ozone. Once completed, you must ventilate thoroughly for it to be safe.

Our technicians we called to a toilet overflow where was the heavy saturated material will cause paint to detach from the ceiling. Hours and minutes are important in our world, because there can be an extensive amount of damage in a short period of time. 

On a recent call at a crawl space, we came up against the problem of "space". The usual protocol of taking the dehumidifier under the house would not be possible. Our skilled team of techs constructed ducting to take it all the way to the containment area where there were fans set up. 

Our technicians responded to a kitchen that had been flooded. While we were surveying the extent of the damage, we found the beginning stages of mold damage under the sink. 

Why SERVPRO?  The simple answer is because we care.  Not only about our customer but about our crews as well.  An example of this is our production manager Joe bringing pizza to his crew during a Fire and Soot cleaning job that we completed recently. 

Whenever we are called to a job with possible mold, our primary concern is making sure it is removed with causing damage to health of those around you. This is especially important in high occupancy buildings such as the one in this picture. 

When there is a water leak in your home, whether were drying in place or doing a full demolition, you can trust that we will care for your items like they are our own. 

For this customer, a return from their vacation was not a pleasant experience. Their was a water leak spanning a number of days. This was the extent of the damage and lucky for them, it wasn't much.

We were called out to perform a crawl space dry down at none other than our Marketing Representative's FAVORITE bakery, Susie Cakes. In anticipation of the plumbers arrival, we placed absorbent in the crawl space for optimal drying.  

Nothing stops SERVPRO of Van Nuys South, even the Christmas Holiday. We responded to a Woosley Fire cleanup job just days before the holiday. This was an expansive job, and quite the undertaking. 

Once the soot and smoke has been removed from the walls and contents of a home, the next step is to bring in an ozone treatment to neutralize the air. 

Our part of the state was badly hit by the Woosley Fire. For this customer, the fire came right down to their property line. This can cause major smoke damage to the home, and inevitably to your health. 

SERVPRO of Van Nuys South was called out to a case of vandalism to someones trees in their front yard. We were able to do cleanup and prepare the claim for insurance. 

Here at SERVPRO of Van Nuys South, we believe in keeping the loss low, and the best way of doing that is strategically setting up our drying  equipment so that we can dry in place.

This was a vacant store front that was previously occupied by a UPS Store. There was substantial damage by the time we were called out to it. Luckily there was very little contents and we were able to dry and do what little demolition we had to do, rather quickly. 

This photo was taken in an workshop in the back of our customers house. It was one of  the worst mold jobs we have done. The affected area started out very small, and a short time later turned into what you see here.

This burned out vehicle was of many at a home directly next door to a home that cleaned.  SERVPRO of Van Nuys South helped many home owners get back to their homes after we cleaned the home from Smoke Damage caused by the Woolsey Fire.

It's one of the most thankless jobs out there, being an LAPD Officer. They put their lives on the line everyday to keep our city safe. So, in the spirit of gratitude, SERVPRO of Van Nuys South decided to bring in some coffee and donuts to the Van Nuys Division of the LAPD. They were thrilled by the gesture, and expressed their immense gratitude.

Firefighters risk their lives every day to prevent catastrophic human loss. They are running in, while everyone else is running out.

Bringing them treats is the least we can do, but often times the smallest acts of kindness go a very long way.

Jason & Denise's youngest son, August, learning the equipment in our warehouse.  He was being trained by our technician Alexis.  August was very excited and proud to be part of the team for a day and can't wait to come back.
